Obituary of Ellen O. Parmelee
Ellen O. Parmelee, age 69 of Ansonia, died peacefully on August 30, 2019 at Griffin Hospital, Derby. Born in Westchester, NY, she was the daughter of the late William Josiah and Mildred Alice Jacobs Parmelee. Ms. Parmelee resided in Fairfield, New Jersey, and Florida, before returning to CT and residing in Ansonia. She earned an accounting certificate and spent her life helping others working as a nurse’s aide in convalescent homes, prior to her retirement. Ms. Parmelee was devout in her faith and enjoyed cooking, baking, spending time with her family and reading. Her artistic ability was demonstrated in her cross stitch embroidery, poetry writings and artwork. She was an avid reader and enjoyed science fiction, drama and mystery novels. She brought her smile, deep love and joy to every person she touched. She will forever be missed and the world will be a smaller place without her in it. She is survived by her beloved children, James T.B. Fraser of Florida and Monica (John) Butt of the United Kingdom; brothers, Brooks (Lauren Kempton) Parmelee of New Haven, George (Elly) Parmelee of Tennessee , Donald Parmelee of Tenessee; a sister, Carol (George Sturgis) Parmelee of Branford; cherished grandchildren, Morgan Joyner of OH, Christopher Fraser and Joshua Fraser of Florida; as well as several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will take place on Saturday, September 7, 2019, at 6:30 PM in the Wakelee Memorial Funeral Home, 167 Wakelee Avenue, Ansonia. Interment will be private. Family and friends may call at the funeral home on Saturday from 4:00 to 6:30 PM, prior to the service.
