Mrs. Hogan as I always referred to her always had a twinkle in her eye and smile on her face. I became very close friends with her when I came to help her with the bookkeeping at Assumption School back in 2012. Although she really didn't need much help (she was meticulous in everything she did!!) I had to teach her to make payroll journal entries in QuickBooks and in between teaching, we shared jokes, stories about our families, weekend trip details and anyone who walked in the door of the school she knew and would tell you their history. It was never a dull moment and coming to Assumption School to assist her was so much a pleasure and not at all work when I worked by her side. It was too bad we never actually drank the bottle of scotch she kept hidden in the filing cabinet (we looked at it many times though) but we did enjoy our fair share of Ghiradelli chocolate squares.
She lovingly spoke of of her sons and grand kids and I was amazed at how much energy and spark she had for a much older women. She was caring towards all the kids at Assumption as well as all the teachers and the Principal, Mrs. Molnar. She loved her Church and loved God. Whenever she lost anything, she would pray to the Holy Spirit and there she would find it. I feel bad I wasn't able to speak or meet with her before her passing. Please forgive me for not reaching out sooner Mrs. Hogan! I pray for your soul's eternal peace and thank you for being such a wonderful friend and confidant.
