Obituary of Daniel Joseph Tichy

Daniel Joseph Tichy, age 42 of Oxford, died Sunday, July 21, 2019 at Griffin Hospital.  Born in Bridgeport, he was the son of Donna Grudetski and the late Daniel Tichy.  Daniel was raised in Monroe and Shelton and was a 1997 graduate of Shelton High School. He was the owner and operator of Custom Painting of Oxford for many years. A thrill seeker at heart, he enjoyed anything fun and adventurous, from bowling to sky diving to riding quads - always sharing his experiences with family and friends.  The Caribbean & Las Vegas were favorite destinations for Daniel, especially St. Thomas where he’d thrive in the island lifestyle.  He truly enjoyed Broadway Plays especially The Lion King. In addition to his mother, he is survived by his step-father, Bernie Halapin of Oxford;  a sister, Cheryl Saja & significant other Jay Gumbs of Oxford; brothers, Christopher & his wife Kerri Fitzgerald of Coventry, RI, and Glenn Tichy of Oxford; a niece, Taylor Saja; and nephews, Dakota Saja, and Daniel & Richard Tichy.  A memorial service will be held on Saturday, July 27, 2019 at 6:30 PM in the Wakelee Memorial Funeral Home, 167 Wakelee Avenue, Ansonia, CT.  Family and friends may call at the funeral home from 4:00 to 6:30 PM, prior to the service.  Interment will be private.  Memorial contributions may be made in care of the funeral home.  Online condolences may be made at www.wakeleememorial.com.
