To Tamie's Family: Approximately, an 8 foot Kousa Dogwood tree was planted today, May 5, 2009, in memory of Tamie Kealey's 46th birthday. The tree was planted near the Japanese Maple tree that Tamie, herself, planted in the family backyard. Additionally, a yellow, friendship ribbon was tightly secured around one of its branches. Several friends gathered in the softly falling rain as prayers were recited for Tamie, including prayers for her entire family that they may find comfort. Happy Birthday, Tamie,we love you! Happy Birthday in Heaven, my dear friend, Tamie! Oh, how I miss you so! I woke up in tears wishing I could see you today as planned. The pain does not subside and although love must bear all things, including great suffering, I believe, at some point in time, suffering begins to purify the soul ~ gently persuading us to be transformed, as Christ suffered for us, we, too, must suffer, so that we may share in his eternal glory ~ "For a soul is made or unmade by the quality of our response to suffering." "Suffering is a pain that can be turned into good or evil, depending on how we perceive it. With that being said, shame on me for suffering poorly! Yet, having returned from retreat this past Sunday from Nazareth Spiritual Life Center in Monroe, CT, this I am only beginning to understand. It was a both a blessing and comfort as my soul was in dire need of rest. I shall now make a sincere effort to suffer with grace and dignity with renewed hope! Happy Birthday, "Dear Heart," I know you are helping me to grow in my faith, as I attempt to no longer live in the flesh, but rather, live in the Spirit ~ I love you, Tamie!!

CELEBRATION OF LIFE Thank you for celebrating my life, for the endless joy you gave; Never was I lonely, love filled all my days, Although the Lord has summoned me home, I shall miss you all so much; Now is the time to travel on; I've won the Victor's Cup! There is no need to be weary, nor sad that I am gone; I remain forever with you when you hear my favorite song. I shall be the sweet smelling fragrance, when in springtime flowers bloom; The brilliantly shining, radiant stars, the illuminating moon. The gentle, cool breeze in summer that fills the midnight air; The rolling waves, the thunder, the laughter that you hear. The silence when at night you soundly fall asleep; The smile on a stranger's face while walking down the street. The leaves as they change color prior to their fall; The majestic, bare tree remaining forever standing tall. The moist, tender raindrops softly saturating your face, Shall be tears of my endless love, an affectionate embrace. Yet, now, I must embark on my spiritual journey, so live life your very best; Especially when life presents challenges, putting you to Life's test. I know this may be difficult and, at times, hard to understand; Trust in God's consuming love ~ His Eternal Perfect Plan. I shall live on through memories and interconnected we shall always be; For I remain a part of you, and, you, forever me! Remember me by living harmoniously taking the time to cherish the beauty of each new day; Knowing love endures infinately, not ever to fade away! I shall wait patiently until we are Heavenly reunited together; Time and space may separate us, but matters of the heart ~ Never! May all those who knew and "love" Tamie, especially her husband, Jimmy, as well as her dear, beautiful sisters, be comforted by these words. Written with love by: Barbara Rowe D'Louhy Love and Peace to all! Love you, Tamie! Happy Easter in Heaven, my dear friend!

In that thought process, it occurred to me that the profound impact is not in the past tense. It is in the present and will remain viable and ever so strong in the future. Her spirit, kindness, and vibrant personality remain in the hearts, souls and minds of those who loved her. It is with a heavy heart that I sit here and write today. Tamie was a passionate, caring person who always had a smile; whether she was doing something as ordinary as answering the phone or talking fondly of her loved ones, friends and EMS. Her smile is just one of the many, many things that when you think of Tamie, stands out in your mind. It is so sad that a person with so much love for life and people was taken so early. But as she watches from above, her energy will forever be felt by those she touched. God Bless you Tamie. -The Whipple Family

Knowing 2 of the many people within her life, I can only say that this is the story of a woman of substance. A woman larger than life. We'll miss you Tamie You know its true, and everything that made you you. Your smile, your grace, that pretty face, you took us all to a much better place. First thing you'd do when you got in the bus, was put on tunes for both of us. It made you crazy, this we know, if the stretcher straps were not just so. "Presentation is everything" you'd say to me, I had no choice, but to agree. "Yes dear" I'd say to you all the time, knowing full well I better not chime. The pain you endured each and everyday, you never ever showed to us in any single way. Our Springsteen trip we must agree, was so much fun for you and me. You asked us at the end "what did I miss"?, yet we all left in total bliss. Our ups and downs we made it through, I'm grateful I was a part of you. Tamie, Tamie, let me say right here, I'll NEVER forget you, you were so dear.

I always knew that Tamie played a role in helping to make me who I am today. What I never knew was how important a role I, and the other members of EP4911 played in her life. Tamie was a truly special individual, who put others before herself more often then should be allowed. She helped to teach me the meaning of confidence, professionalism, and grace under fire - a lesson she reinforced in my visit with her in her last days. I didn't know Tammie but my Aunt Kelly knew her and she said she was a great person. My thoughts and prayers are with Tammie's family.

I had the HONOR of being Tamie's personal friend and working with her both in S.E.M.S. and Post 4911 in my capacities of Capt. of Special Operations and Associate Advisor to the Post. I sit here in tears remembering the astounding efforts she made to help others, regardless of the impact her actions had on herself, especially to the members of Post 4911. She will be sorely missed by all that were touched by her and her legacy will live on in their memories of her actions.
