Obituary of Anthony Tarascio

Anthony Tarascio, Sr., age 90 of Southbury, beloved husband of the late Sara Valvona Tarascio died peacefully on April 20, 2019 at the Lutheran Home of Southbury, with his family by his side.  Born in Port Chester, NY on August 15, 1928, he was the son of the late Charles and Carmella Mamalette Tarascio.  Mr. Tarascio was raised in Port Chester, NY and was a 1945 graduate of Port Chester High School.  He worked as a production manager for many years for the former Peerless Nuclear Corporation of Stamford, prior to his two years of employment with the General Clutch Co., until the time of his retirement.  A longtime resident of Port Chester, Mr. Tarascio was a volunteer firefighter and Past Chief of the Port Chester Fire Department.  He served as a Scoutmaster and Troop Leader for the BSA Troop 8 of Port Chester, an avid golfer and was a lifelong NY Yankees fan.  Following his retirement, he and his wife of 62 years resided in Citrus Hills, Hernando, FL for 10 years, before moving to Southbury in 1995.  He is survived by his devoted son, Anthony (Kathleen) Tarascio, Jr. of Southbury; a brother, Rocco (Lorraine) Tarascio of Danbury; and cherished granddaughters Kelly and Sara Tarascio of Southbury.  In addition to his wife, he was predeceased by a daughter, Sharon Ciccone and a brother, Angelo Tarascio.  Memorial Services will take place Wednesday, April 24, 2019, at 6:30 PM in the Wakelee Memorial Funeral Home, 167 Wakelee Avenue, Ansonia, CT.  Family and friends may call on Wednesday prior to the service from 4:00 to 6:30 PM.  Interment will be private.  In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Lutheran Home, 990 Main Street N., Southbury, CT 06488.
