Obituary of Edward Charles Denton
Edward Charles Denton, age 75, beloved husband of Theresa Young Denton of Ansonia, died peacefully at Bridgeport Hospital on November 22, 2018. Born in Southington, CT on August 7, 1943, he was the son of the late Albert Grenier and Irene Herbert Denton and the stepson of the late Robert Miller. Mr. Denton worked as a Line Serviceman at the Westchester County Airport for over 20 years. In 2007, he began a new career as a chauffeur with Hy’s Limousine of West Haven; he enjoyed driving many people 100’s of miles to area airports, weddings and events, until the time of his retirement in 2007. He was a communicant of Holy Rosary Church, an avid golfer and fan of Nascar Racing. He could be often found watching B-movie action films and Westerns or listening to Elvis in his spare time. In addition to his wife of 46 years, he is survived by his devoted children, Katherine L. Denton of NYC and John P. (Ingrid Martins-Denton) Denton of San Francisco, CA; a brother, Albert (Joanne) Denton of FL; as well as several nieces and nephews, and great-nieces and nephews. Funeral Services will take place on Tuesday, November 27, 2018 at 9:45 AM from the Wakelee Memorial Funeral Home, 167 Wakelee Avenue, Ansonia. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 AM in Holy Rosary Church, Father Salemi Dr., Ansonia. Interment will follow Pine Grove Cemetery, Ansonia. Family and friends may call at the funeral Home on Tuesday morning from 9:00 to 9:45 AM, prior to Mass. Memorial contributions may be made to the SF SPCA .
