Obituary of Regina M. Karolak
Regina Monika Karolak, age 89 of Shelton, beloved wife of the late Henry Karolak, died March 26, 2018, at the St. Raphael Campus of Yale New Haven Health, with her devoted daughter by her side. Born in Lipsku, Radomskie, Poland on September 7, 1928, she was the daughter of the late Wincenty and Wiktoria Jezierska Zbros. Mrs. Karolak worked as a secretary for the local police department in Poland for 10 years, and then was employed as a secretary for the Polish Army for five years. She immigrated from Poland to the U.S. in 1990 and resided in New Haven for many years, until moving to Shelton. Mrs. Karolak enjoyed cooking; especially polish favorites like pierogi and golumpki for her family. Mrs. Karolak was an avid reader and enjoyed caring for her home and yard. She is survived by her children, Lech (Agneszka) Karolak of Poland, Andre (Dorota) Karolak of Switzerland, John Palka of NY, Jadwiga (Daniel) Powe of Shelton and Grazyna Karolak of FL; a sister, Sabina Marcinkowska of Poland; nine grandchildren, six great-grandchildren; as well as many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her first husband, Antoni Palka; sister, Janina Stepien and brother, Richard Zbros. Funeral Services will take place on Tuesday, April 3, 2018 at 9:00 AM from the Wakelee Memorial Funeral Home, 167 Wakelee Avenue, Ansonia. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 AM in St. Michael Church, 75 Derby Avenue, Derby. Interment will follow in Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Trumbull.
