Obituary of Emilia Madzik
MADZIK – Emilia Madzik, age 78, beloved wife of John Madzik of Ansonia, died peacefully in her home with her family by her side on December 20, 2015. Born in Wolowiec, Poland on April 17, 1937, she was the daughter of the late Jurko and Anna Polanska Kuzmicz. Mrs. Madzik immigrated to the United States from Australia in 1969 and was proud to become a naturalized U.S. citizen in 1975. A longtime resident of Ansonia, Mrs. Madzik worked at Samarius Inc. of Derby in the 1970’s, was a homemaker, and was a member of the Carpatho Russian Orthodox Greek Catholic Church of St. John the Baptist of Bridgeport. In addition to her husband of 55 years, she is survived by her devoted son, Paul Madzik of Bethel; brothers, Petro Kuzmicz of Australia and Mikolaj Kuzmicz of Poland; as well as several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by an infant son, Stefan Madzik; sisters, Maria and Ewa Kuzmicz; and brothers, Mytro and Ivan Kuzmicz. Funeral service will take place on Wednesday, December 23, 2015, at 11:00 AM from the Wakelee Memorial Funeral Home, 167 Wakelee Ave., Ansonia. A Requiem Funeral Service will be held at 12:00 Noon in St. John the Baptist Church, 364 Mill Hill Avenue, Bridgeport. Interment will follow in Pine Grove Cemetery, Ansonia.
