Obituary of John F. Ready

John F. “Jack” Ready, age 86 of Ansonia, died peacefully on August 26, 2015 at Griffin Hospital. Born on October 11, 1928, he was the son of the late Mr. & Mrs. John Ready. Mr. Ready attended Teacher’s College and worked as a grammar school teacher for the New Haven Board of Education for nearly 40 years prior to his retirement. In those 40 years, he never missed a day of work and was only late on one occasion due to an automobile accident. He was a lifelong resident of Ansonia and New Haven and loved to read. He is survived by his cousins, Alice (Sabatino) D’Ascanio of Plantsville and Charles McCarthy of Stamford; his caregiver and friend, Marcus (Heidi) Wulff of Ansonia; as well as his loyal canine companion, Molly. At Mr. Ready’s request, all funeral services are private. The Wakelee Memorial Funeral Home, 167 Wakelee Avenue, Ansonia is in care of arrangements.
