John and Peggy were like aunt and uncle..as my brothers and I grew up we saw them every summer on vacations in RI and often meet at state parks to have cookouts. Suzy and, Jackie and john knew of these great times and built our childhood. Big john as we knew him will be missed but always remembered by us..Elsie, Rich, bill, and Paul

Suzanne, Next to my own father, your father was the most important adult male in my life when I was trying to find my way through adolescence. He helped me so very much. My deepest condolences to John's family. I knew John for over forty years. He was a fixture in the Judo Community in Connecticut. As President of Connecticut Judo, Inc.(CJI) I selected him to serve as Chairman of the Kata Committee and he also served as the Chairman of the Rank Promotion Board. He was elected as Vice President of CJI several times. John also served as a referee at many of the Championships we had over the past 40 plus years. He was an important part of the Judo Community. He will be missed. With deepest sympathies! For almost 50 years, he was a friend, a mentor, and a fellow traveler through the world of martial arts for most of my adult life, and I will miss his friendship and his counsel dearly, as will so many others whose life he touched. Godspeed
