I remember his laugh as a little kid; so full of life. He seemed to have not a care in the world. One of my fondest memories of "dad" was traveling to New York during a summer vacation. He would take care of me just like I was one of his own kids. You will forever remain in my heart and prayers.

Elementary school in the 50's and 60's were K through the eight grade. You had to learn to get along. My fondest memory of those elementary days was in the 3rd grade or so . . . all of our studies were in our desk. One of my favorite subjects was Music. We would pull out our music books that were filled with many songs. The selection of song we would sing would be by raising our hands. For some reason, I would be called on regularly to choose the song we would sing. (waving furiously) My selection for song was ALWAYS the Marine Corps Hymn ! The song would be sung with great passion knowing my brother was serving with the USMC. My classmates shared that enthusiasm. ~ Semper Fi, Brother . . .

Jim regrets that he will not be attending the service. He has medical complications that will not allow him to travel extended distances (Eureka California). I will extend his sorrow as we shed tears talking about those 'good ol days'. Jim and Pat were two years apart and I was the 'baby' brother of four. Nine years separated me from Jim and eleven from Pat. Growing up in Ansonia in those days there were only three things you could do. They were known as the "Three F's" Fighting, Football and . . . Foolin' around. Pat and Jim would babysit me for Mom. Downtown we would go and up the stairs to the pool hall at Sams. I would play under the pool tables while those Nolan boys would hustle on the top.

While Gerri was instructing a water aerobics class last week, she had a vision (during class) of Aunt Helen opening her arms and welcoming Pat to a better place. Gerri describes that a warmth came over her as she smiled while the class continued with her instructions.
