Obituary of Shirley Sala

SALA- Shirley Ann Student Danko Sala, age 77 of Virginia Beach, VA, formerly of Ansonia, died April 6, 2013 at the Autumn Care Health Care Center, Norfolk, VA. Born in Bridgeport on January 14, 1936, she was the daughter of the late John Danko and Helen Student Danko of Ansonia. Ms. Sala worked as an Office Clerk for the Valley Orthopedic Surgeons Group for over 20 years until her retirement in 2008. She was a long time Valley resident before moving to VA four years ago. In addition to her mother, she is survived by her children, Salvatore Louis Sala, Angelo Michael Sala, all of VA Beach, VA, Sally Dechane of Derby, John Joseph Sala of TN and James Anthony Sala of Colombia, CT; sisters, Jane Ellen Botti of Ansonia, Sandra Ann Parkosewich and her husband, Victor of Seymour and a brother, John Joseph Danko, Jr. and his wife, Maryellen of MO; 8 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren. A graveside service will be held on Saturday, April 20, 2013 at 11:30 AM in Sts. Peter and Paul Cemetery, Derby.
