Obituary of Antoinette Marchulitis

MARCHULITIS- Antoinette H. Marchulitis, age 99, formerly of Ansonia, beloved wife of the late Vincent Marchulitis, died peacefully January 5, 2013 at St. Joseph's Manor, Trumbull, just 12 days shy of her 100th birthday. Born in Scranton, PA on January 17, 1913, she was the daughter of the late Thomas and Helen Turasckevich Sacalas. Mrs. Marchulitis was a long time resident of Ansonia, parishioner of St. Anthony Church and member of its Ladies Guild. She worked as a machine operator for over 28 years for the Hershey Metal Co., before her retirement in 1962. She is survived by her devoted granddaughters, Cynthia (Kelly) Anderson of FL, Deborah (Nicholas) Ranilla of Milford and Theresa (Arthur) Anderson of East Haven; a brother, Matthew (Helen) Kleiza of Waterbury; six cherished great-grandchildren; son-in-law, Jon Heidgerd of FL; daughter-in-law, Georgia Marchulitis of East Haven; as well as many nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband, she was predeceased by sons, Robert and Thomas Marchulitis; daughter, Marialice Heidgerd; brother, Anthony Sacalas; and sisters, Julia Nikituk and Mary Chuzas. Funeral services will take place on Wednesday, January 9, 2013 at 9:00 AM from the Wakelee Memorial Funeral Home, 167 Wakelee Avenue, Ansonia. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 AM in St. Anthony Church, 199 North Main Street, Ansonia. Interment will be in Mount St. Peter Cemetery, Derby.
