I only new this young man for a very short time while we were deployed on the 22nd MEU I wasn't even aware of this until well after I went back to Cherry Point. I remember him as a hard working man trying to make sense of the Marine Corps and life. I only wish I got a chance to see you before I left the boat. Live forever man, I'll see you one day.

My heart hurts for your family. "D" was such a special young man having our morning breakfast together, sharing our daily stories to helping him get a date to the prom. I will never forget him he will always hold a special place in my heart. I remember the day he told me he was joining the Marines, he told me it was so his family can have a better life here in the U.S but we know life was already better because he was their to make you smile. I will surely miss him. May you watch over us all my sweet "D" because you sure are one special angel.

First I would like to say to the family that you all are in my prayers and in my families prayers. When I received the knews the first thing I did was pray for Edouard, I ask God to take him into his kingdom, for he was a child of God and a firm beleiver in him. I then asked God to cover his family in the blood of Jesus because only faith in God can console someone when they lose a family member. As everyone before me already stated, Edouard was always smileing, and he never hesitated to lend a helping hand when you needed it. He was such a good Marine, and he will be more than missed, he will be remember and kept in the prayers of the people whom he came in contact with. I thank God for meeting Edouard because when times were hard, some how he made them a little better. Once again to the family of LCpl Edouard, you all are in my prayers and I know that you will make it through this tough time because God said you will.

I remember the day "D" arrived at Shelton High School as a new student. His warm smile quickly won our hearts. He was kind, thoughtful, and caring. He visited the office often to share the story of the day and of course, a smile. My thoughts are with you at this time of sadness.

"D" spent alot of time with us in the Youth Service Bureau and enjoyed having oatmeal breakfast squares that we always kept on hand for him. It was wonderful to hear his stories and watch that twinkle in his eye that always came with his quick smile. May God bless him and comfort you in your loss.

LCpl Edouard had such a gentle spirit. He was the one Marine (considered odd but also necessary) to show that you can be kind, joyous, be rooted in God, and still do the toughest job in the nation. (oorah) My favorite memory of him is when we were stationed in Okinawa, Japan. Everytime I saw him he would smile...always smiling. Then one day he wasn't smiling and he looked uncomfortable. I walked up to him and asked what the problem was and he just let out another big smile with his new braces. It was so funny because he tried to be bashful about getting braces but couldn't help smiling about "whatever". Not everyone could clue into what kept him so pleasant, but being a Christian it doesn't take long to see that he couldn't help but smile becuase he had the joy of the Lord. Many Marines envy that, but can't help but attach to it. I know he was a motivation to everyone he came in contact with. I pray that God keeps you in this time of bereavement.
