Obituary of Bernice Malec
MALEC- Bernice J. Malec, age 89 of Shelton, died Monday, April 5, 2010 surrounded by her family at Griffin Hospital. Born in Shelton on October 30, 1920, she was the daughter of the late John and Bernice Ropski Malec. Miss Malec was a lifelong resident of Shelton and Communicant of St. Michael the Archangel Church, Derby. She worked as a foreman and inspector for Avco-Lycoming and eventually Textron for over 30 years, until her retirement. Miss Malec was an avid bowler, competing in many Valley Bowl Leagues and enjoyed spending quality time with her family. She is survived by a brother, Stanley Malec and his wife, Peggy of PA; devoted nieces, Margaret Boos and her husband, William of Shelton and Jane Barth and her husband, William of Ansonia; as well as many other nieces and nephews; many great-nieces and great-nephews; as well as great-great-nieces and great-great nephews. A Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, April 7, 2010 in the Wakelee Memorial Funeral Home, 167 Wakelee Ave. Ansonia. Interment will directly follow in St. Michael Cemetery, Derby.
