Obituary of Carmen Ileana Montalvan
Carmen Ileana Montalvan, age 52 of Ansonia, died peacefully on December 30, 2022, at St. Vincent’s Medical Center, Bridgeport, surrounded by her family. Born in Guayaquil, Ecuador on April 18, 1970, she was the daughter of the late Carmen Segura Montalvan. Ms. Montalvan immigrated to the United States with her family in 1970 and settled in Port Chester, NY, where she was raised. She resided in lower Fairfield County for many years, before moving to Ansonia in 2006. Ms. Montalvan worked as a transit driver for the Norwalk Transit District for 18 years, until the time of her illness. Her life was dedicated to her family. She enjoyed spending quality time with her children, cherished her grandchildren and was a loving sister to her five brothers. She will be long remembered for her special love and devotion for her family. She is survived by her beloved children, Timothy Gomez of Ansonia and Vanessa Montalvan of New Haven; loyal brothers, Carlos (Susana) Montalvan of FL, Danny Montalvan of Stamford, Leo Montalvan of Norwalk, and Jose (Joanna) Montalvan of Danbury; a sister-in-law, Maria Garcia Montalvan of Stamford; treasured grandchildren, Kailey Anne Montalvan of New Haven, Timothy “TJ” Gomez, Jr, Jordan Gomez and Ilyanna Gomez, all of Ansonia; as well as an infant grandson on the way. In addition to her mother, she was predeceased by a brother, Fernando Montalvan. Funeral arrangements are private. The family wishes to extend their sincere appreciation to the medical professionals and staff on the seventh floor of St. Vincent’s Medical Center, for their compassionate care extended to Carmen in her time of need.
