Obituary of Anne M. Perler
Anne M. Perler, age 87, of Huntington, beloved wife of the late Sheldon Roy Perler, died peacefully on December 17, 2022, in the comfort of her home, surrounded by her family. Born on August 7, 1935 in Troy, NY, she was the daughter of the late John J. and Estelle Curley Neville. Mrs. Perler was raised in Troy, NY, was a graduate of Catholic Central High School, Troy, N.Y. and of the St. Luke’s School of Nursing, New York City. A resident of CT since 1964, Mrs. Perler worked as Registered Nurse at St. Vincent’s Medical Center, Bridgeport, St. Joseph’s Manor, Trumbull, as well as care for many elderly and infirmed patients on private duty.
She was a member of the Most Precious Blood Church Choir, Trumbull (now known as Christ the King Church), a tireless volunteer for the Swim Across the Sound, and being proud of her Irish heritage, she was a member of the Bridgeport St. Patrick’s Day Parade Committee. Together with her husband, Mrs. Perler traveled the globe, attended countless Yale University sporting events, as well as attended many symphonies, operas and theatrical performances.
She is survived by her devoted sons, Joseph (Jay) Connolly, Jr. and Shaun Connolly, both of Huntington; 5 cherished grandchildren, 2 great-grandchildren and a great great-grandchild. In addition to her husband of 23 years, she was predeceased by a daughter, Sheila Anne Beman and her husband, Leland H. Beman.
A Memorial Mass will be celebrated on Saturday, May 13, 2023 at 10:00 AM in St. Lawrence Church, 505 Shelton Avenue, Huntington. Interment will follow in Huntington Lawn Cemetery, Huntington.
