Obituary of Arthur Scott Ballantyne

Arthur Scott Ballantyne, age 96, beloved husband of Frances Ireland Ballantyne of Derby, died peacefully on October 26, 2022, in the comfort of his home, surrounded by his family.  Born in Bridgeport on March 18, 1926, he was the son of the late Arthur S. and Catherine Sloan Ballantyne.  Mr. Ballantyne was a proud U.S. Navy Veteran of WWII and served as a Seaman First Class aboard the destroyer, USS Winslow in the Atlantic, Pacific and Brazilian Theaters.  He worked as a surveyor building highways and other heavy construction projects for the E&F, Frouge and P. Even in his retirement, Mr. Ballantyne was never idle, always working on home improvement projects and helping friends and family in need.  He was proud of the fact that the town of Tilton, New Hampshire, was founded and named after his father’s family.  In addition to his beloved wife of 69 years, he is survived by his devoted children, Scott Arthur Ballantyne of FL, Cynthia (Paul) Sardo of Ansonia, Nancy (Robert) Triantafillos of Oxford, Kathy Ballantyne of SC, Sandra (Ronald) Luneau of Seymour and Lisa Ballantyne of Derby; cherished grandchildren, Scott A.
