Obituary of James Hughes

HUGHES- James K. Hughes, age 68, beloved husband of Pamela Partrick Hughes of Ansonia, died February 4, 2010 in Griffin Hospital. Born in Scranton, PA on December 10, 1941, he was the son of Harold and Elma Borthwick Hughes of FL. Mr. Hughes was a resident of Ansonia for 35 years and worked as a Production Control Foreman for the Sikorsky Co. for over 40 years until his retirement in 1999. He was strong supporter of the NY Jets and Mets and took pride in tending to his beautiful flower gardens. In addition to his wife of 50 years, Mr. Hughes is survived by his devoted children, David Hughes and his wife, Tracy of Ansonia, Donald Hughes of Milford, Diana Gilloren and her husband, Martin of Ansonia, Kenneth Hughes and his partner, Randy Longobardi of Milford and Christopher Hughes and his companion, Becky Strode of Ansonia; a sister, Cheryl Styles of FL, a brother, Malcolm Hughes of Meriden; cherished grandchildren, Christopher Hughes, Ryan Lowe, and Gregory & Jamel Gause; as well as several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a sister, Lynn Winchester. A Funeral Service will take place on Monday, February 8, 2010 at 7:00 PM in the Wakelee Memorial Funeral Home, 167 Wakelee Ave., Ansonia. Interment will be private. Family and friends may call on Monday, February 8, 2010, from 4:00 to 7:00 PM.
