Obituary of Richard J. Schlenk

Richard J. Schlenk, age 68 of Huntington, died peacefully on March 25, 2022, at St. Vincent’s Medical Center, Bridgeport.  Born in Bridgeport on December 31, 1953, he was the son of Robert J. and Janice Brady Schlenk of The Villages, FL.  Mr. Schlenk was raised in Stratford and was a graduate of Bunnell High School.  He worked as a production printer for the CT Post for many years and then later was employed with Hometown Publications until the time of his retirement. Mr. Schlenk was a lifelong fan of the NY Yankees and an avid history enthusiast; The History Channel, being his favorite.  He enjoyed watching classic western movies and his witty sense of humor will be sorely missed.  In addition to his parents, he is survived by his loyal brothers, Robert and Anne Schlenk of The  Villages, FL, Gregg and Andrea Schlenk, Durango, CO, Mark and Cathy Schlenk of The Villages, FL; as well as several beloved nieces, nephews and his feline companion, Pageant.  A Memorial Service will be held in  the Wakelee Memorial Funeral Home, 167 Wakelee Avenue, Ansonia on Sunday, August 14, 2022 at 5:30 PM.  Family and friends may call at the funeral home from 3:00 to 5:30 PM, prior to the service.
