Obituary of Barbara Orzechowski Parks

Barbara (LaRocco) Orzechowski Parks, age 76 of Ansonia, loving wife of over 30 years to the late Ronald Orzechowski, passed away on October 14, 2021 after a short illness at Yale New Haven Hospital. Born in Ansonia on October 25, 1944, she was the daughter of the late Angelo and Pauline Skorupski LaRocco. She is survived by her son, Mark Orzechowski and his wife Phyllis; grandsons, Alex and Matt; son, Eric Orzechowski; brother, James LaRocco and his husband Ken Johnson; Aunt Ursala Kennedy; nieces, Cindy Hart and husband Jim and their son Matthew, Marie Orzechowski and her wife Karen, and Marie’s son Schuyler Sperling. She was predeceased by her brother, Robert LaRocco (survived by Cheryl, wife of Robert) and nephew, Michael Hart.  Barbara was also predeceased by her second husband, Everett Lee Parks, and survived by Lee’s daughters, Karen Parks, Rebecca Smith and her children, Devon and Marissa.  Barbara was a life-long Ansonia resident having worked for the Ansonia Board of Education for over 40 years. Throughout her life, she enjoyed family vacations, playing Bingo with her mother, trips to the casino, reading books, playing cards with her nieces, and visits with friends and family.  Barbara’s gift to us was her unwavering support to and love of her family, her laughter and kindness, and her beautiful smile.  Barbara loved her pets, and is survived by her cat Nacho who always welcomed visitors with a loud hello.  We will forever love and miss Barbara, and will always remember with great joy and celebration the moments we shared. Funeral service will take place on Monday, October 18, 2021, at 10:00 AM at the Wakelee Memorial Funeral Home, 167 Wakelee Ave., Ansonia. Interment will follow in St. Peter and Paul Cemetery, Derby.  Family and friends may call at the funeral home on Sunday, October 17, 2021 from 4:00 to 7:00 PM, Panikhida at 6:30 PM.  Memorial contributions may be made to the Ansonia Animal Shelter, 1 North Division Street Ansonia, CT 06401.
