Obituary of Samuel J. Olenchuk
Samuel J. Olenchuk, age 84 of Seymour, beloved husband of the late Ruth (Moroney) Olenchuk for 60 years, died September 22, 2021 in the comfort of his home. Born in Derby on February 17, 1937, he was the son of the late Samuel and Helen (Zavalick) Olenechuk. Mr. Olenchuk was a lifelong resident of Seymour and worked in Sales for much of his career. He is survived by many nephews and nieces from a large and loving family that will always have fond memories of the many gatherings across the street from his home at the Cegelka Polish Pavilion. Sam and Ruth’s Roast Beef and Baked Beans will always be remembered! In addition to his wife, he was predeceased by sisters, Joan Thorpe, Jean Kanyuck, Florence Cegelka, Mary Grass, and Alice Weymer; and brother, John Olenechuk. As the last sibling to pass, may they all now sing and rejoice together in heaven. A special thank you to his dear friend and caretaker, Rohanee Raghunath, for the continuous care and love she offered to both Ruth and Sam for the past 7 years. A Mass of Christian Burial, meeting directly at church, will be celebrated on Monday, October 11, 2021 at 10:00 AM in the Church of the Assumption, 61 N. Cliff St.,
