Obituary of Roy W. Primachuk

Roy W. Primachuk, age 94 of GA, formerly of Ansonia, died peacefully on January 22, 2021 at the Heritage of Marietta Assisted Living, Marietta, GA. He was the beloved husband of the late Leona Motel Primachuk. Born in Hamtramck, MI on August 11, 1926, he was the son of the late John and Anna Jarmusz Primachuk.  Mr. Primachuk was raised in Ansonia and was a 1944 graduate of Ansonia High School.  He was a proud U.S. Army Veteran of WWII where he served as a Tec 5 Auto Mechanic.  Following his military service, Mr. Primachuk returned to Ansonia and began his 45-year career with the Evening Sentinel as a composer and typesetter, until his retirement in 1991.  He was skilled in operating the hot lead Linotype machines and progressed with technology into phototypesetting and lastly modern-day computer typeset formatting.  Mr. Primachuk was a lifelong member of Sts. Peter and Paul Church enjoyed watching auto racing and was a lifelong auto enthusiast.  He is survived by a brother, Edward Primachuk and his wife, Arlene of GA; nephews, John and Tom Primachuk, both of GA; a Goddaughter and niece, Laura Sexton and her husband, Brian of Woodbridge; nieces Dr. Michelle Ranno and Tina Ranno, both of Milford; Nancy Beres and her husband, Paul of West Haven; Patricia Marra and her husband, Steve of Ansonia and Jean Stevenson and her companion Buddy Kezel of Woodbridge; and brother-in-law, Michael Ranno and his wife Susan of Ansonia.  A Memorial Mass will be celebrated on Saturday, April 24, 2021 at 10:00 AM in Sts. Peter and Paul Church, 105 Clifton Avenue, Ansonia.  Interment with Military Honors will follow in Sts. Peter and Paul Cemetery, Derby.  The Wakelee Memorial Funeral Home, 167 Wakelee Avenue, Ansonia, is in care of arrangements.  Online condolences may be made at www.wakeleememorial.com.
