Obituary of Antone Mederios Santos, Jr.

Antone Mederios Santos, Jr., age 60, beloved husband of Sheila Niemeyer Santos, died peacefully on March 6, 2021 at Griffin Hospital with his family by his side.  Born in Bridgeport on November 15, 1960, he was the son of the late Antone M. Santos, Sr. and Katherine Wells Santos; he was also predeceased by a sister, Sandra Wells Santos. In addition to his wife of 34 years, he is survived by his son, Antone M. Santos, III of Ansonia; sisters, Lorraine Santos of Waterbury, Katherine Santos of GA; brothers, Steven Santos of Bridgeport, Robert Santos of Bridgeport, and Victor (Lucy) Santos of FL.  He is also survived by several cherished nieces and nephews.

Mr. Santos was raised in Bridgeport and worked as a sales associate for the Value Warehouse Supermarket, formerly of Bridgeport and for the former Discount Furniture World, of Derby.  He was currently employed as a security guard, until the time of his illness.  Mr. Santos was an avid outdoorsman and an avid fisherman. He will be long remembered as a devoted husband and father, and for his special love for his nieces, nephews, and extended family.

A Graveside Funeral Service will be held on Monday, March 15, 2021 at 11:15AM in Pine Grove Cemetery, 15 Church Street, Ansonia, CT. The Wakelee Memorial Funeral Home, 167 Wakelee Avenue, Ansonia, is in care of arrangements.  Online condolences may be made at www.wakeleememorial.com.
