Obituary of Harry Balko

BALKO- Harry Balko, Jr., age 91 of Georgetown, MA, formerly of Derby, CT and Kissimmee, FL died suddenly Sunday, September 20, 2009. He was the husband of the late Martha Yustin Balko. Born in Ansonia, the son of the late Harry and Katherine Balko, he grew up in Derby and for several years owned and operated Balko's Service Station in Ansonia. He later located to Seymour after the flood of 1955. He moved to Florida where he resided for 25 years and in 1991 relocated to Georgtown, MA. He was life long member of the Three Saints Church, Ansonia. He is survived by devoted daughters, Sandra Kiley and her husband John of Oxford and Diane Klibansky and her husband John of Georgetown, MA; cherished grandchildren, John Kiley III and his wife Sharon of Oxford, Greg Kiley of Derby, Nadine Russo and her husband David of Seymour, Philip Klibansky and his wife Patty of Newburyport, MA, Nadezhda Hart and her husband Jeffry of Stafford, VA; great-grandchildren, Chase and Jordan Russo of Seymour. He is predeceased by brothers, Fred, Michael and George Balko. Funeral services will take place on Friday, September 25, 2009 at 9:15 AM from the Wakelee Memorial Funeral Home, 167 Wakelee Ave., Ansonia. A Funeral Service will be held at 10:00AM in the Three Saints Orthodox Church, 26 Howard Ave., Ansonia. Interment will be in Three Saints Cemetery, Derby. Family and friends may call from 4:00 to 7:00 PM on Thursday, September 24, 2009, Parastas Service will be held at 6:00PM. Memorial contributions may be made to Three Saints Orthodox Church.
