Obituary of Margaret Ann Thomas
Margaret “Marge” Ann (Kofarago) Thomas, a lifelong resident of Shelton, Connecticut, entered into rest on December 26th, 2020, at the age of 69. She was born in Derby, Connecticut on August 5, 1951, to the late Ann (Korpalski) and John “Puffy” Kofarago. Margaret leaves behind her beloved husband of 41 years, Fred Thomas; and their two daughters, Jodi and Alyse. She also leaves behind her sister, Patricia Oram; and brother, John Kofarago. Margaret graduated from Shelton High School in 1969 and was a 1972 graduate of the Bridgeport Hospital School of Nursing. She pursued a career as a dedicated MICU nurse in Griffin Hospital, then Bridgeport Hospital and lastly worked at Bishop Wicke Health Center until her lifelong battle with Systemic Lupus Erythematosus prevented her from continuing. Margaret always had a passion for helping others and did everything she could to assist friends in need.
Margaret was a member of the Bridgeport Hospital School of Nursing Alumni I & II. She was also a charter member of the Huntington Fire Company No. 3 Auxiliary.
A private celebration of life will be announced when it is safe for friends and family to gather in person. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Margaret Ann Kofarago Thomas Memorial Scholarship at Shelton High School, which will help support a graduating senior pursuing an education in nursing.
