Obituary of Betty Jane Armbruster

Betty Jane Armbruster, age 94 of Ansonia, beloved wife of the late Donald Armbruster, died peacefully on Wednesday, January 6, 2021, at Lord Chamberlain, Stratford.  Born in Bridgeport on August 30, 1926, she was the daughter of the late Raymond Forcier and Marion Hall Cable Grant.  Betty was raised in Fairfield and was a 1945 graduate of Roger Ludlow High School.  Betty resided in Bridgeport and Shelton before moving to Ansonia seven years ago.  She worked at Warner’s in Stratford for over 10 years as a customer service representative and she also worked at Leading National Advertisers in Norwalk as an editorial researcher.  Following her retirement, she worked for Crabtree as a driver.  She enjoyed traveling to Ireland, Florida and Massachusetts. She enjoyed knitting, skating, dancing, the sound of windchimes, and crashing waves of the ocean. She loved to listen to her favorite music with a good cup of tea and some sugar cookies.  She shared a special loving relationship with her dogs, the late Petey Boy and her rescue, Bella. She is survived by her devoted daughters, Bonnie Strickland Naczi of Wallingford, Sally Gibson of MA, Kathleen Marino and her husband, Gary, of Shelton, Laurie Podejko of Ansonia, and Mary Cole Hemstead of Shelton; 10 cherished grandchildren; and 10 cherished great grandchildren; as well as several nieces and nephews.  Betty was predeceased by her previous husband, Thomas Cole; her grandson, Emmett Naczi; and brothers, Frank Hall Grant and Raymond Warren Grant.  Friends and family are invited to attend a walk-through visitation at the Wakelee Memorial Funeral Home, 167 Wakelee Avenue, Ansonia, from 4:00 to 6:30 PM on Tuesday, January 12, 2021. Please be advised that all protocol, screening and social restrictions of the Covid-19 Pandemic will be exercised.  Funeral Service and interment in Lakeview Cemetery, Bridgeport will be private.  Memorial Contributions may be made to Ansonia Animal Shelter.  Online condolences may be made at www.wakeleememorial.com
