Obituary of Barbara Ann Marie Emutis

Barbara Ann Marie Emutis, age 69, beloved wife of Paul Emutis of Ansonia, died November 13, 2020 at St. Vincent’s Medical Center, Bridgeport.  Born in Milford on November 23, 1950, she was the daughter of the late Terrance and Laura Bucikowski Payton.  Mrs. Emutis was raised in Milford but has been a longtime valley resident.  She worked as a bus driver and dispatcher for the Valley Transit District for over 30 years, until the time of her illness.  She was an avid bingo player, enjoyed traveling - especially cruising, where she sailed on 12 memorable Norwegian Cruises.  She was a shopper of all things and will be long remembered for her talents in the kitchen, always baking or cooking her favorite recipes to lovingly share with her family and friends.  She truly had a heart of gold.  In addition to her husband of 21 years, Barbara is survived by her devoted children, Brian Krasowski of Stratford and Dawn Thompson and fiancé, Joe Little of Ansonia; an adopted daughter, Heather Hine of Voluntown; a sister, Karen Bowers and husband, Tim of PA; brother, Terry Payton and wife, Annette of Seymour; and her cherished grandsons, Troy and Tyler Thompson of Ansonia.  Due to social restrictions of the Covid-19 Pandemic, an outdoor celebration of Barbara’s life will be held in the springtime.  The date, time and location will be announced in the very near future.  The Wakelee Memorial Funeral Home, 167 Wakelee Avenue, Ansonia, is in care of arrangements.  Online condolences may be made at www.wakeleememorial.com .
