Obituary of Joan Theriault

Joan Theriault, age 85 of Derby, died peacefully November 7, 2020 in the Newtown Health Care Center with her daughter by her side.  Born in Waltham, Massachusetts on July 20, 1935, she was the daughter of the late John and Jessie Gray Stascavage.  Mrs. Theriault was predeceased by brothers, Eddy and Bob Stascavage.  A longtime resident of Derby, she devoted her life to raising her 6 daughters all by herself. Family was always most important to her.  Mrs. Theriault is survived by her devoted daughters, Linda (Walter) Mayhew of Derby, Patti (Dan) Zuraw of Shelton, Donna Theriault of SC, Joanie Theriault of Danbury, Coreen Theriault of Derby and Karen (Leonard) Shoemaker of MT; sisters, Veronica Laffey and Nancy Lisano, both of MA and a brother Mickey Stascavage of CT.  She had 10 cherished grandchildren and 7 cherished great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. She was very loved by all.  She will be greatly missed and forever loved by all of her family.
