Ingrid was born to parents Stefan and Maria (Krasowski) Rutner in Gelsenkirchen, Germany. She grew up in East Prussia, Germany. In March of 1945, she and her family were able to flee on the last plane out before the Russian invasion. They settled in a small town in southern Germany, Markgroningen, where Ingrid met her future husband. In 1952, the family immigrated to the United States where she married her husband Guenther on October 24, 1953 and resided in Queens Village, NY.  Ingrid initially worked at the Bulova watch company. The couple then moved to Bellerose, Queens and Westbury, Long Island, where she worked for many years in accounting at the Long Island Press. During this time, they enjoyed frequent overseas travel, especially to Europe. After their retirement, Ingrid and Guenther moved to Sarasota, Florida in 1996. Ingrid was a devoted wife, a warm and loving person who always cared for those who were sick or in need. She was an excellent cook and loved to entertain her many friends and family.
