Obituary of Carol Evancovitch

EVANCOVITCH- Carol Ann Evancovitch, age 67 of Oxford, beloved wife of the late John Evancovitch, died Sunday, June 28, 2009 at Griffin Hospital, Derby. Born in New Haven on June 7, 1942, she was the daughter of the late Clarence Rogers and Jessie Jasmin Rogers Church. Mrs. Evancovitch was a home maker and long time resident of Oxford. She was an avid bingo player and loyal NY Yankee's fan. She is survived by her devoted children, Eva Evancovitch of Seymour, Karen Dykes and her husband, Billie of Derby, John Evancovitch of Oxford, and Carol Evancovitch of Derby; brothers and sister, Clarence, William and Edward Rogers and Lena Loving, all of West Haven; cherished grandchildren, Antonio and Angelica Scapellato of Derby, Kristina Dykes of Derby and Jack Michael Evancovitch of Stratford; an anticipated and loved great-grandson, Giovanni Scapellato; and her mother-in-law, Mildred Evancovitch of Ansonia. In addition to her husband, she was predeceased by a brother, Francis Rogers and a sister, Clare Giddings. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, July 2, 2009, at 10:00 AM in the Wakelee Memorial Funeral Home, 167 Wakelee Ave., Ansonia. Interment will be in Pine Grove Cemetery, Ansonia.
