Obituary of Evelyn M. Guluzzi

Evelyn (Hawks) Guluzzi, daughter of Walter Hawks and Alice (Barrows) Hawks, was born September 2nd, 1928 in Ansonia, CT. She graduated from Ansonia High School in 1946. On June 9th, 1951, she married Michael Nicholas Guluzzi of Ansonia, CT. After they were married, they moved to Queens, New York where they raised two daughters - Doreen and Karen. She and her husband moved to Charlotte, NC in 1996 where she remained until her death on June 7th, 2020. Evelyn took pride in being a loving wife, mother, and grandmother. Evelyn was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Michael. She was also preceded in death by both of her parents as well as her brothers Donald, Floyd, Theodore Sr and Kenneth; and sister, Marjorie (Hawks) Lane. Evelyn is survived by her brothers Gerald Hawks and Warren Hawks of Ansonia, CT; daughters Doreen Olivencia of Charlotte, NC and Karen Russo of Newark, DE; granddaughters Jessica Olivencia and Angela Russo, grandsons Steven and Christopher Olivencia, as well as various nieces and nephews. Regrettably, due to safety restrictions in place for Covid-19, the family will be holding a private visitation and funeral service for Evelyn at Wakelee Memorial but invite all who wish to celebrate her life to join them graveside at Pine Grove Cemetery on Friday, June 12th at 11:30am. Evelyn was loved and adored by everyone she met. In sharing that love, the family asks in lieu of flowers or donations that you share a memory of Evelyn in the tribute section.
