Obituary of John Patrick Ambrosio

John P. Ambrosio, age 67, beloved husband of Robin M. Ambrosio of Oxford, died peacefully on February 27, 2020, surrounded by his family at Yale New Haven Hospital. Born in Stamford on April 3, 1952, he was the son of the late Patrick and Mary LaMotta Ambrosio. Mr. Ambrosio was raised in Stamford and was a 1970 graduate of Stamford High School. He was a proud U.S. Navy Veteran of the Vietnam War. Mr. Ambrosio worked in retail sales and management, employed with Home Depot of Derby as a Store Manager, for over 10 years, until the time of his illness. An avid NY Yankees and Giants fan, Mr. Ambrosio was an active father in his boys’ lives, attending every sporting endeavor and activity. He enjoyed music and played the drums in local rock bands, and will be long remembered for his special love for all of his family. In addition to his wife of 45 years, he is survived by his devoted sons, Jason J. (Melissa Donnelly) Ambrosio of Shelton, Kenneth M. (Kimberly) Ambrosio of Trumbull, and Christopher L. (Chelsea Riccio) Ambrosio of Hebron; a sister Patricia (Daniel) Sileo of Stamford and cherished grandchildren, Joseph and Alaina Ambrosio of Shelton and Nicholas and Evan Ambrosio of Trumbull. Family and friends may call at the Wakelee Memorial Funeral Home on Monday, March 2, 2020, from 4:00 to 7:00 PM. Funeral services will take place on Tuesday, March 3, 2020, at 9:00 AM from the Wakelee Memorial Funeral Home, 167 Wakelee Avenue, Ansonia. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 AM at the St. Nicholas Parish, Church of the Good Shepherd, 135 Mountain Rd., Seymour. Interment with Military Honors will follow in Mountain Meadows Cemetery, Seymour.
