Myron Russell Brochinsky (“Bro”), age 92 of Orange, died January 1, 2020 at Yale New Haven Hospital after a brief illness. Born in Ansonia on August 5, 1927, he was the son of the late Samuel and Maria Kociuba Brochinsky. Raised in Ansonia, he was a lifelong member of Sts. Peter and Paul Ukrainian Catholic Church, and a graduate of Ansonia High School. A proud U.S. Army Veteran of WWII, he returned home and continued his education earning a B.S. Degree at Davis & Elkins College, WV and a graduate degree from the University of Arkansas, AR. He was employed at PepsiCo for over 40 years, until the time of his retirement in 1991. Mr. Brochinsky began his long career at Pepsi as a chemist and was instrumental in the formulation of the famous beverage. As a loyal corporate executive, he traveled throughout the world for Pepsi, ensuring water quality and production standards. He enjoyed swimming (to the age of 86), gardening and baking his famous apple pies from scratch. A savvy investor, Mr. Brochinsky belonged to local investment clubs and enjoyed watching the stock market. He owned a cottage in Falmouth, MA and a cabin in Denmark, ME, where he would escape to the peace and serenity of Cape Cod and Moose Pond, respectively. He will be long remembered and revered by his nieces and nephews for instilling significant family values, the importance of higher education and his unreserved generosity and love he freely shared with all. He is survived by his cherished nieces and nephews, Stephanie (Jason) Jenny of NC, Claudia (Ross) Tramell of PA, Alice O’Hara of NY, James (Nanci) Brochinsky of Woodbridge, Mary Esther (Peter) Whelan of MA, Harry Steven (Jill) Brochinsky of NJ and Marianne (Remick) French of GA; a sister-in-law, Dionizia Brochinsky of Orange; as well as many great-nieces and nephews.
