Obituary of June Chucta
CHUCTA- June Anne Chucta, age 78, beloved wife of John Chucta of Seymour, died February 27, 2009 in her home surrounded by her family. Born in Derby on September 6, 1930, she was the daughter of the late Theodore and Anna Spiwak Worobel. Mrs. Chucta was a graduate of Ansonia High School and worked as a Secretary in the Amity Junior High School for 18 years until her retirement in 1992. She was a member of the Shelton Russian Club, Shelton and Prospect Senior Centers, and a life long parishioner of Sts. Peter and Paul Church, Ansonia. Mrs. Chucta was a wonderful cook, enjoyed skiing and traveling, but will be long remembered for her overwhelming generosity to others and her special loving relationship she shared with her children and grandchildren. In addition to her husband of 59 years, she is survived by her devoted children, Gary Chucta and his wife Nancy of Seymour, Thomas Chucta and his wife Janet of Prospect, and Lois Culmo and her husband, James of LI, NY; sisters, Mary Piorkowski of Derby, Esther Rozum of Seymour and Olga Kowalsky and her husband, Sergey of Seymour; 7 cherished grandchildren and 1 great-grandson. She was predeceased by brothers, Michael and John Worobel. Funeral services will take place on Wednesday, March 4, 2009 at 9:15 AM from the Wakelee Memorial Funeral Home, 167 Wakelee Ave., Ansonia. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 AM in Sts. Peter and Paul Church, 105 Clifton Ave., Ansonia. Springtime interment will be in Sts. Peter and Paul Cemetery, Derby.
