Dear Thorpe Family and Friends,
Man, I always knew Jack was a smart dude, but reading his pedigree gave me a new sense of appreciation for my friend. Jack was one of the first people we met when we first attended Trinity, and a finer ambassador of the Lord it is hard to find. He always was a gentleman first, but a man that you could share a GOOD joke with. He was one of the most engaging people I have ever met and he always left a conversation making the person with whom he had communicated feeling better about themselves,or if they were hurting, better able to deal with their lot in life. Wow, what a concept? Leave people feeling happy and aware that they are blessed? Jack could have instead always spouted off about all his accolades and accomplishments - before today I was never even aware of the depth of Jack's wonderful accomplishments, perhaps because he was always focused on helping us, busy being God's hands and feet in the world.
All I know is that I will miss my old buddy.
God rest his soul and get ready for some GOOD jokes.
