Obituary of Henrica Rachel Dziubina
Dziubina - Henrica “Rachel” Mertens Dziubina, age 95 of Ansonia, beloved wife of the late Bohdan J. Dziubina, entered into eternal rest on January 2, 2015, with her family by her side. Born in Belgium on October 14, 1919, she was the daughter of the late Theophiel Edgard and Marie Madeleine Van Melkebeke Mertens. Rachel immigrated to America with her family in 1957 and became a member of Sts. Peter and Paul Church. She worked in several positions and eventually became the Bindery Supervisor at the former Charlton Press, Inc in Derby. She is survived by her devoted sons, Vladimir “Walt” Dziubina and his wife Karen of Ansonia and Pierre Dziubina and his wife Cheryl of Shelton; cherished grandsons, Christopher Dziubina and his wife Michelle and Jason Dziubina and his wife Victoria, Michael and Matthew Dziubina; cherished great-grandsons, Christopher and Preston Dziubina; her sister-in-law, Dozia Bystrianyk and her husband Wasyl of Orange; as well as many nieces, nephews and relatives in Belgium. In addition to her husband of 65 years, she was predeceased by five brothers and sisters in Belgium. Funeral services will take place on Monday, January 5, 2015 at 8:45 AM from the Wakelee Memorial Funeral Home, 167 Wakelee Avenue, Ansonia. A Mass of Christian Burial will be Celebrated at 10:00 AM, in Sts. Peter and Paul Church, 105 Clifton Ave., Ansonia. Interment will follow in Sts. Peter and Paul Cemetery. Family and friends may call at the funeral home from 8:45 to 9:45 AM, prior to Mass.
