Obituary of Eugene J. Gilmore
GILMORE-Eugene J. Gilmore, age 68, of Ansonia, died peacefully on August 12, 2014, in the CT Hospice, Branford. Born in Bridgeport on December 19, 1945, he was the son of the late Archibald George and Helen Bednar Gilmore. Mr. Gilmore was a valley resident for most of his life; residing in Ansonia, Derby and Shelton for over 20 years. He was employed as an Electronics Inspector for the OEM Controls Co., until the time of his retirement. Mr. Gilmore then resided in Kingman, AZ and enjoyed the solitude and beauty of desert living. He was collector of native american arrow heads and artifacts and enjoyed many Arizona sunsets with his family and friends. He is survived by his devoted sister with whom he made his home, Brenda Bazyluk and her husband, Joseph of Ansonia, and Betty Courchene and her husband, Arthur of MA; nieces, Lisa Donohue and her husband, Scott of Ansonia and Laura Johnson and her husband, Michael of Shelton; nephews, Keith and Kevin Courchene of MA; great-niece, Tina Donohue of Ansonia; great-nephew, Tyler Johnson of Shelton; and devoted friends, Leland Ray and James Berkebile, both of AZ. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by a brother, Delbert Gilmore. A Graveside Memorial Service will take place on Monday, August 18, 2014 at 11:00 AM, in St. John Cemetery, 2610 Nichols Ave., (Rte. 108), Stratford, with the Rev. David Abbott officiating.
