Obituary of Marie C. Sylvester

SYLVESTER – Marie C. Sylvester, age 86, of Stratford, beloved wife of 54 years to the late Judge Joseph H. Sylvester, died peacefully with her family by her side on Thursday, June 6, 2014 at CT Hospice. Mrs. Sylvester was born in Derby on December 22, 1927 and was the daughter of the late Anthony and Jenny Casanova DeMartin. She was raised in Derby, a graduate of Derby High School, and together with her husband were longtime residents of Shelton. Mrs. Sylvester is survived by five devoted children, Sharon Daddona of Florida, Candice Sylvester of Shelton, Holly Sylvester of Milford, Carl Sylvester (Denise) of Shelton, and Joseph Sylvester, Jr. of Ansonia;a sister, Jean (Thomas) Comcowich of Shelton; as well as six cherished grandchildren. A Mass of Christian Burial, MEETING DIRECTLY AT CHURCH, will be celebrated on Tuesday, June 10, 2014 at 10:00 AM in Holy Rosary Church, Father Salemi Dr., Ansonia. Interment will be in Riverview Cemetery, Shelton. The Wakelee Memorial Funeral Home, 167 Wakelee Ave., Ansonia, is in care of arrangements.
