Obituary of Esther Boyko

BOYKO- Esther Anastasia Boyko, age 89, beloved wife of Nicholas Boyko of Shelton, entered into eternal rest on November 4, 2013, at Griffin Hospital with her family by her side. Born in Ansonia on June 2, 1924, she was the daughter of the late Michael and Julia Suchancyz Krywkew. Mrs. Boyko was a lifelong member of Sts. Peter and Paul Church where she participated in many activities including the Ladies Auxiliary. She was a home maker and employee of the B.F. Goodrich Co. and then the Latex Products Co. of Derby for many years until her retirement. Together with her husband, she enjoyed Caribbean Cruises and many trips to North Carolina to visit her daughter's farm. Mrs. Boyko was a member of the Shelton Senior Center and loved word games and scrabble. In addition to her husband of 65 years, she is survived by her devoted children, Nancy B. Webber of NC and William N. Boyko of Shelton; a cherished granddaughter, Cherie L. Webber of NC; as well as several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by sisters, Olga Pavelchak, Mildred Zuraw and brother, Stephen Krywkew. Funeral services will take place on Thursday, November 7, 2013, at 9:15 AM from the Wakelee Memorial Funeral Home, 167 Wakelee Ave., Ansonia. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 AM in Sts. Peter and Paul Church, 105 Clifton Ave., Ansonia. Interment will be in Sts. Peter and Paul Cemetery, Derby. Family and friends may call on Thursday morning at 8:45 AM, prior to Mass. Memorial contributions may be made to Sts. Peter and Paul Preservation Fund.
