Obituary of Peter Cherhoniak

CHERHONIAK- Peter S. Cherhoniak, age 82, beloved husband of Marie DAlexander Cherhoniak of Seymour, died March 17, 2008 in Griffin Hospital. Born in Seymour on October 17, 1925, he was the son of the late Samuel and Esther Cherhoniak. Mr. Cherhoniak was a lifelong resident of Seymour and member of Three Saints Russian Orthodox Church, Ansonia. For 40 years, he was the owner and operator of Petes Canteen, the food concessions at the Farrel Companys Executive Offices, Derby and Ansonia Plants. He is survived by a daughter, Karen Lefevre and her husband, Arthur of Seymour, and Denise Tracy and her husband, Randy of PA; grandchildren, Christine Dufour and her husband, Jason of Wolcott, Wayne Hoyt of Bristol, Randy Tracy, Jr. of PA, and a cherished great-grandson, Wyatt Dufour of Wolcott. He was predeceased by brothers, John, Stephen and Charles Cherhoniak and sisters, Mary Phipps, Eve Zwanch and Ann OGrodnick. Funeral Services will take place from the Wakelee Memorial Funeral Home, 167 Wakelee Avenue, Ansonia, on Wednesday, March 19, 2008 at 9:15 AM. A Funeral Service will be held at 10:00 AM in Three Saints Russian Orthodox Church, 26 Howard Ave., Ansonia. Interment will be in Pine Grove Cemetery, Ansonia. There are no calling hours.
