Obituary of Teckla Mendyk

Teckla Mendyk, age 81, of Derby, beloved wife of the late Fred A. Mendyk, died peacefully in her home on April 18, 2013. Born in Ansonia on August 25, 1931, she was the daughter of the late Theodore and Christina Madgic Spak. Mrs. Mendyk was a lifelong Valley resident and member of St. Michael Church of Derby. She is survived by her devoted children, Kim LaFrance and Fred S. (Kassie) Mendyk all of Meriden; cherished grandchildren, Stephanie and Kimberly Hill, and Raymond LaFrance; great-grandchildren, Daniel Anthony Zeleznik, Ariana Jasmine Lowe, and Anaijah Jade Campbell; and sisters, Mildred (Paul) Pawlak and Stella Behuniak all of Seymour. In addition to her husband, Mrs. Mendyk was predeceased by brothers, John, Michael, Andrew and Daniel Shpak, and Joseph and Stephen Spak; and sisters, Mary Holowsky and Anna Peters. Funeral services will take place on Tuesday, April 23, 2013, at 9:00 AM from the Wakelee Memorial Funeral Home, 167 Wakelee Ave., Ansonia. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in St. Michael Church, 75 Derby Ave., Derby at 10:00 AM. Interment will be in St. Michael Cemetery, Derby.
