OBrien- Mary E. Mame OBrien, age 104, of Ansonia, beloved wife of the late Chief William OBrien, (Ansonia Police Dept 1952-1969), died March 11, 2008 in St. Josephs Manor, Trumbull. Born in Ansonia on June 22, 1903, she was the daughter of the late Ignacious and Pauline Teretskawitch Wailonis. Mrs. OBrien was a lifelong resident of Ansonia and Parishioner of St. Anthonys Church. Together with her husband, Mrs. OBrien was active in many civic and police organizations, as well as a member of the St. Anthonys Ladies Guild. She is survived by a sister, Pauline Babonis of Ansonia and a brother George White of LA; Many nieces and nephews as well as great-nieces and nephews. Mrs. OBrien was predeceased by brothers, Paul White, Charles, Alexander and Anthony Wailonis and a sister, Helen Balasky. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, March 14, 2008 at 10:00 AM in St. Anthonys Church, 199 North Main St., Ansonia, at 10:00 AM. Interment will be in Mt. St. Peter Cemetery, Derby. Family and friends may call on Friday morning from 9:00 to 9:30 am in the Wakelee Memorial Funeral Home, 167 Wakelee Ave., Ansonia.
