Obituary of Helen Eaton
Eaton- Helen Eaton, age 86, of Thomaston (previously of Lakeland, FL and Ansonia), beloved wife of the late Edward Earl Eaton, died peacefully on January, 8, 2013 with her family by her side, at the Middlebury Convalescent Home, Middlebury. Born in Shelton on November 13, 1926, she was the daughter of the late Wasil and Eva Prokipczak Kowtko. Mrs. Eaton worked as a line worker for the former B.F. Goodrich Co., for many years until her retirement in 1976. She enjoyed knitting, crocheting, arts & crafts and decorating Christmas Trees for the Light Up The Town Celebration of Thomaston. She is survived by her devoted children, Edward (Liz) Eaton of Thomaston, Daniel (Gale) Eaton of Middlebury and Marjorie (Tim) Hawley of Middletown; twin sister, Ann Black of TX; cherished grandchildren, Bethany Sabol of PA, Adam Eaton of Woodbury, CT, Eric Eaton of CA, Kirsten and John Hawley of Middletown and Shannon of NY; great-grandson, Andrew Edward of NY. In addition to her husband, she was predeceased by a daughter, Patricia Eaton; sister, Mary Skurat; brothers, Nicholas Kowtko and Samuel Kowtko. Funeral services will take place on Saturday, January 12, 2013 at 8:30 AM from the Wakelee Memorial Funeral Home, 167 Wakelee Avenue, Ansonia. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in the Church of the Assumption, 61 North Cliff St., Ansonia at 9:30 AM. Entombment will be in Mt. St. Peter Cemetery, Derby.
