Obituary of Betty Connery

CONNERY- Betty L. Connery, age 86, of Shelton, beloved wife of the late James S. Connery, Sr., died November 1, 2012 at the Shelton Lakes Health Care Center. Born in Shelton on January 29, 1926, she was the daughter of the late Ernest and Mildred Huggins Ledger. Mrs. Connery was a graduate of Shelton High School and lifelong Shelton resident. She worked as a secretary for the Miller Insurance Agency for many years, until her retirement in 1984. She is survived by her devoted children, James S. Connery, Jr. and his wife Barbara of Shelton, Ronald Connery and his wife, Donna of Derby, and Cynthia Garafolo and her husband, Peter of Beacon Falls; cherished grandchildren, Justine Patchkofsky and her husband, Donald of Shelton, Brenda Connery of TN, Sean Connery and his wife Dana of NYC, Neil Connery of Derby, Kylee and PJ Garafolo of Seymour; great-granddaughters, Kaitlyn Patchkofsky of Shelton and Julianna Garafolo of Seymour, as well as many nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband, Mrs. Connery was predeceased by brothers Ernest Ledger, Jr., William Ledger and sisters, Ruth Kneen and Susan Close. A Memorial Service will be held on Sunday, November 11, 2012 at 2:00 PM in the Shelton First United Methodist Church, 188 Rocky Rest Road, Shelton, CT. Private interment will be in Riverside Cemetery, Shelton. Memorial contributions may be made to the Shelton First United Methodist Church.
