Obituary of Betty Ann Kearns

Kearns- Betty Ann Horoschak Kearns, born on May 14, 1950, Betty Ann fell asleep on July 30, 2012. She was the loving wife of James L. Kearns for 41 wonderful years and the loving mother of Michael P. Kearns of Murrieta, CA. She lived in Riverside, CA for more than 25 years. She is survived by her mother, Charlotte Deming of Massachusetts and her sister, Barbara (David) Fournier of Rhode Island. Her father John Jr, sister Beverly, and brother John III predeceased. She is also survived by her nephews David, Andrew (Libby) and Jonathan (Martha) Fournier; Jason and Justin Brooks of Massachusetts; and niece Rachel Fournier of Connecticut. Betty was active in the Eastern Catholic Church through different parishes and the local chapter of the Society of St. John Chrysostom. She actively and ardently supported local and national "Orientale Lumen" conferences while working to expand communications between the Roman Catholic, Eastern Catholic, and Orthodox Churches. As such, she developed many friendships with the clergy and religious of the various rites. She was also proud of her long association with the Secular Franciscans which developed into even more friendships. A graveside service will be held in Sts. Peter & Paul Ukrainian Greek Catholic Cemetery, Derby, on Monday, August 20, 2012 at 11:00 AM. The Wakelee Memorial Funeral Home, 167 Wakelee Ave., Ansonia is in care of arrangements.
