Dear Great Grandpa John, I know I didn't know you that well and I regret every bit of it. I only wish we could have a bit longer. Well I can tell you I remember having that awkward talk on the phone, I wish I knew what to talk about, maybe it would have been a little more interesting. Everyone misses you so much. -Brianna

To mom, Aunt Betty Ann,and the rest of the family, my deepest sympathies. I will miss Grandpa and his stories very much. I will also miss his timely cards with thougths and pictures. It is hard to find words to express the loss that I feel towards the only grandparent I really knew. I loved him very much and he will be missed dearly. I will remember him always. I love you Grandpa.

I just viewed the memory video and remember Mr. Horoschak taking Barbara and me out on the boat at the end of the day and letting us jump in and swim in the deep water of Long Island Sound. We laughed a lot in those days. Barbara was one of my best friends and her mother and my mother were best friends. We had many good times at each other's houses.

Though I did not get to meet Grandpa John, it was an honor to share in the celebration of his life with you all. He was a hero, a gentleman and most of all a loving Father, Grandfather and Great-grandfather. Listening to the stories you all told placed joy into my soul. To know you all hold those memories of him deep with your heart to share with one another. Keep them always, never forget to share them and he will never be far from you! Andrew, Barbara, David, David Jr., Jonathan, Betty Ann, Jim and Michael, I am truly sorry for your loss and my thoughts, prayers and love will be with you ALL!

I didn't know my great grandpa really well, but i still loved him. A few years ago he sent me a birthday card, saying that he was sorry that he missed my birthday, he put in some cash, I cn't remember how much. Either way, money or no money, the fact that he remembered really mattered to me. I never really got to know him and every second I regret that i hadn't tried harder to know more about him. I already miss, with lack of memories, I still hve a picture of him, that'll last a lifetime.

How sad I am to hear about John's passing. I had the pleasure of knowing John when he and Betty came on a Lemko Tour to Poland that I led a few years ago. What a truly nice man. What a nice family. God bless him and greet him with open arms.

I only knew John for two short weeks in 2003, but he helped make those two weeks forever memorable. I suppose, like me, he'll be missed by many whose lives he only touched a short time.
