Obituary of Harold Lindner
LINDNER- Harold J. Lindner, age 91, of Seymour, beloved husband of the late Peggy S. Lindner, died Wednesday, May 16, 2012 in the comfort of his home, surrounded by his family. Born on January 9, 1921, in North Bergen, NJ, he was son of the late Charles E. and Amelia Madigan Lindner. Mr. Lindner was a U.S. Army Veteran of WWII; he was a graduate of Officer's Candidate School and attained the rank of First Lieutenant. He served as the Photographic Unit Commander serving in the Signal Corps Photographic Center. He participated in the New Guinea, Western Pacific, Southern Philippines and Luzon campaigns. Post war, Mr. Lindner continued his passion of photography working as a commercial photographer for Devaney Studios of NYC where his work was published in many national publications, including Life Magazine. He then worked for Target Studios of Hackensack, NJ for many years, until retiring in 1986. He was a long time resident of Lodi, NJ, before moving to Seymour 18 years ago. Mr. Lindner was a member of the Oxford Senior Center and enjoyed singing their chorale group. Survivors include his devoted sons, James G. Lindner of Wethersfield, Larry A. Lindner and his wife Sandra of FL and Steven C. Lindner of FL; 4 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren. In addition to his wife of 67 years, he was predeceased by a brother Charles Lindner. Funeral Services will be held on Monday at 9:15 AM from the Wakelee Memorial Funeral Home, 167 Wakelee Ave., Ansonia. A Requiem Funeral Service will be held at 10:00 AM in Christ Episcopal Church, 56 S. Cliff St., Ansonia. Interment with Military Honors will be in the CT State Veterans Cemetery, Middletown, CT.
