Obituary of Sara Tarascio

TARASCIO- Sara Tarascio, age 84, beloved wife of Anthony Tarascio, Sr. of Southbury, died April 21, 2012, in the comfort of her home with her family by her side. Born in Port Chester, NY, on March 28, 1928, she was the daughter of the late Pasquale and Mary Calabrese Valvona. Mrs. Tarascio was a longtime resident of Port Chester before moving to Citrus Hills, Hernando, FL in 1995. Prior to her retirement, she was the office manager for Dr. Nissen, DDS and then Dr. Fidelli, DDS. Mrs. Tarascio moved to Southbury in 2005 and was a member of Sacred Heart Church. Her passion was her family; she will be long remembered for her special love for her granddaughters, her incredible tiramisu that followed every holiday dinner and her kind and gentle spirit that touched all who knew her. In addition to her husband of 62 years, she is survived by her devoted son, Anthony Tarascio, Jr. and his wife, Kathleen of Southbury, cherished granddaughters, Kelly and Sara Tarascio of Southbury; brothers-in-law, Angelo Tarascio and his wife Philomena of FL, and Rocco Tarascio and his wife Lorraine of Danbury; as well as several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her daughter, Sharon Ciccone; sister, Mary Zica and brother, Joseph Valvona. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, April 24, 2012 at 10:00 AM in Sacred Heart Church, 910 Main St. S., Southbury. Private inurnment will take place in the Christ Church Urn Garden, Trumbull. Family and friends may call on Monday, April 23, 2012 from 4:00 to 7:00 PM in the Chapel of Sacred Heart Church, Southbury.
