Obituary of Margaret Brushitis

BRUSHITIS- Margaret Mary Brushitis, age 84, beloved wife of Steven Brushitis of Oxford, died November 28, 2011 at Griffin Hospital surrounded by her family. Born in Derby on December 26, 1926, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Ann Dorso Perez and a 1946 graduate of Derby High School. Mrs. Brushitis was a lifelong parishioner of St. Mary's Church and member of the Ladies Guild. She worked as a Department Lead for National School Studios for 27 years until her retirement in 1991. She was a member of the National School Studio's Alumni for 10 years. In addition to her husband of 63 years, she is survived her devoted son, James Brushitis and his wife Gail of Oxford; cherished grandchildren, Jason Brushitis of Oxford and Nicole Kaminski and her husband, Paul of Harwinton; a sister, Florence Perry of Derby; as well as several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a beloved daughter, Diane Brushitis and brother, James Perez. Funeral services will take place from the Wakelee Memorial Funeral Home, 167 Wakelee Ave., Ansonia, on Friday, December 2, 2011 at 10:45. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 AM in St. Mary's Church, Elizabeth St., Derby. Interment will follow in Mount St. Peter's Cemetery, Derby. Family and friends may call on Friday morning from 9:00 to 10:45 AM, prior to Mass. Memorial contributions may be made to the St. Mary's Building and Restoration Fund.
